Each year, a talented and personable young lady is selected as the Oyster Pearl

The Oyster Pearl represents our festival, our city and our country.

The Oyster Pearl competition has a long standing tradition, running since 1954. Our winning Pearl resides over all festival activities and becomes the ‘face’ of the Festival for its duration and indeed for the year to come.

The prize for the winning young lady includes a beautiful string of cultured pearls, a cash prize of €500, a magnificent crystal trophy, a Presentation Coffret, a weekend in the Rochestown Park Hotel, a Raymond Weil watch worth over €3,000 and Aer Arann vouchers.

Each Pearl nominee is sponsored by a local business. By becoming a Pearl sponsor at our world-renowned festival, you are associating yourself with a festival that has a long, successful history and a reputation for professionalism and style. As a Sponsor you will be allocated a table for ten at the Pearl Selection Banquet plus your company will be part of the many publicity opportunities presented from the nomination stage right up to the Selection Night.
