Galway Oyster Festival

The Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival held their second US promotional event in Chicago where they were offering participants the opportunity to take part in the new Tribal Oyster Feast Off in association with The Gathering 2013.

Galway’s own Michael Moran of Moran’s Oyster Cottage in Kilcolgan has been crowned European Oyster Opening Champion for the second year in a row and fourth time overall.

This year, as part of The Gathering Ireland 2013, the Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival is going Tribal. Recognised as the most famous Oyster Festival in the world, they are reaching out, across the globe, to descendants of the 14 Tribes of Galway and encouraging them to come home to celebrate their ancestry at the 59th Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival, 27th-29th September 2013. The new Tribal Oyster Feast Off, as part of 'The Gathering Ireland 2013', will take place in Galway on Sunday 29th September 2013.
